Internet Connectivity Problems

Experiencing dropped Wi-Fi signals, broken Ethernet links, or DNS resolution errors can grind your workflow to a halt. Follow these step-by-step checks to diagnose and restore your connection.

  • 1. Power Cycle Router and Modem: Unplug both your modem and wireless router, wait 30 seconds, and plug them back in to clear temporary routing bugs.

  • 2. Check Physical Ethernet Cables: Ensure your network cables are clicked securely into both your computer’s port and the router. Swap cables if connection drops persist.

  • 3. Flush DNS Cache: Open your command prompt and run ipconfig /flushdns to clear corrupted local DNS addresses that prevent web pages from loading.

  • 4. Reset Network Adapter Settings: Go to your network settings and reset your Wi-Fi or Ethernet adapter to clear out conflicting IP configurations.
